Spring Drawings: 21 Ideas to Draw

I don’t know about you, but the arrival of spring really makes me want to draw. Maybe it’s the explosion of colors, the sunlight, the intensity of the ‘newborn’ green, or simply being able to walk outside without freezing.

If, like me, you feel like opening your sketchbook and sharpening your pencil but don’t know what to draw… don’t miss these ideas of drawings to celebrate spring!

1. Flower Love

If you’re a flower lover, this is a simple drawing to express it. Draw your favorite flower with a slightly curved stem, then use a single line to shape a heart.

2. Butterflies

Butterflies are the insect we most often learn to draw as kids. They’re simple and fun to customize with endless patterns and colors on their wings.

3. Flower Polaroids

There are plenty of easy ways to draw flowers—using circles or hearts for petals, for example. Combine simple petal shapes to create more intricate flowers. If you place them inside polaroids, you’ll have your own flower collection.

4. Busy Bee

Spring drawing - bee and flower

A bee is easy to draw: just make an oval and fill it with black stripes. Complete the scene with more bees and a flower-filled meadow.

5. Poppy Field

Spring drawing - poppy field

This drawing is inspired by Monet’s famous landscape. It’s easier than you think—just simplify your favorite landscape painting. (In my version, I left out the people Monet included.)

6. Easter Bunny

Spring drawing - Easter bunny

A kid-favorite animal: the Easter Bunny. With just two long ears and a pom-pom tail, it’s a fun way to experiment with your own drawing style. Add a few chocolate eggs to make it extra spring-themed.

7. Spring Goddess

Spring drawing - spring goddess

Create your interpretation of the spring goddess (Persephone, Flora, Ēostre…). A woman with her face and hair covered in flowers—simply stunning.

8. Spring This Way!

Spring drawing - this way to spring

Two arrows pointing in opposite directions: winter behind, spring ahead. The charm of this drawing lies in the contrast between both sides of the sign.

9. Easter Hen

Spring drawing - Easter hen

The original Easter eggs weren’t made of chocolate 😉 To draw a hen with her chick and a basket of eggs, all you need to practice is drawing ovals. Couldn’t be easier!

10. Dragonflies

Spring drawing - dragonflies

The dragonfly silhouette is one of the most elegant—which is why it appears so often in tattoos. You can draw it with lots of detail or keep it very minimal, like the example above.

11. Rainy Cloud

Spring drawing - rainy cloud

This is a super easy drawing but full of meaning. No one enjoys rainy days… but spring showers bring blooming fields.

12. Flower Pots

A single blooming plant may not say much, but group it with others of different heights, shapes, and pots… and you’ll have a lovely illustration.

13. Ladybugs

Spring drawing - ladybugs

Ladybugs are so simple to draw that anyone can do it. To make the drawing more interesting, try drawing several ladybugs following a winding path.

14. Bird on a Branch

Spring drawing - bird on a flowered branch

Birdsong is one of the first signs of spring. Try drawing perched, flying, or nesting birds. There are thousands of bird species, so grab some photo references—it’s a great drawing exercise.

15. Flowers Blooming from Umbrella

Spring drawing - umbrella with flowers

Turning an everyday object upside down (literally!) always sparks new ideas. What could spring out from an umbrella that collects water instead of repelling it?

16. Flower Bouquet

Spring drawing - flower bouquet

If you know how to draw different types of flowers, you can draw a full bouquet. Start with circles of various sizes, a few flowers with petals, and then add stem lines. A few scattered leaves for decoration—and voilà!

17. Postage Stamp

Spring drawing - stamp with flowers

A postage stamp acts like a frame that turns everyday objects into little treasures. Fill a notebook page with flower-themed stamps and it will look fantastic.

The number 21 on the stamp is a nod to the first day of spring.

18. Wildflowers

Flowers are one of the most beautiful gifts—and everyone loves receiving them. Even if they’re just wildflowers picked from a field… or drawn on paper.

19. Flower Bandage
