In summer, we have more free time, but when the heat is on, all we want to do is lie in the shade. Do you know what you can do quietly in the shade to avoid boredom? That’s right, draw.
On the pool towel or under the beach umbrella, grab a notebook and a pen and try any of these summer drawings.
1. Ice Creams
Is there anything more summery than ice creams? They are also very easy to draw because you only need basic shapes: an oval and a stick. Then you can decorate them to make many different ones: with stripes, spirals, chocolate coating, etc.
Once drawn, it’s a lot of fun to color them with bright colors.
2. Baby with Float
This baby is cute and fun. It’s not very difficult to draw if you follow an order: first the face, then the hat and hands, next the float, and finally the legs. Time to splash!
3. Refreshing Drink
When the heat is on, draw a refreshing drink. Any container will do: a glass, a jar, or a mug. Remember to add your favorite fruit, some ice cubes, and a fun straw.
4. Flip-Flops
The fun part of drawing flip-flops is that you can decorate them however you like: with stripes, polka dots, flowers, fish, etc.
5. Summer Girl
A summer T-shirt, sunglasses, and hair tied up to avoid the heat. It’s clear that this girl is enjoying the summer.
6. Invitation to Hang Out
Drawing a phone is as simple as making a couple of rectangles. How can we turn it into a cute drawing? By adding a message with emojis from someone suggesting a plan.
7. Sailing
While you draw, try to imagine the smell of the sea, the sound of the waves, the cries of the seagulls, and the breeze on your face.
8. Tropical Fish
Fish can have practically any shape, pattern, and color. Just add fins, and it’s a fish. One of my favorite drawing activities is to fill an entire notebook page with tropical fish.
9. Polaroids
Drawing a landscape doesn’t seem very special, especially if it’s a simple one. However, frame it within a Polaroid, and it changes immediately. If you put several together, you can turn them into photos of your dream vacation.
10. Vacation Postcard
Vacation in Provence? A few days in Egypt? Let your imagination run wild and draw the postcard you would send from there. It’s as easy as drawing a couple of rectangles and drawing a landscape inside.
11. Door to the Sea
An open door is an invitation to enter, but enter where? Instead of drawing the door to a boring room, let your imagination run wild. Behind this door could be your beach vacation, the mountains, or your favorite city.
12. Hanging Clothes
On a clothesline, we find everyday items: T-shirts, socks, underwear… But in summer, they’re always full of towels and swimsuits.
13. Summer Sun
Nothing is more summery than a radiant sun. It’s something we’ve all drawn hundreds of times since we were kids. Give it an extra touch with a big smile and sunglasses.
